Destination Indian Wedding Photography
Just had an amazing time at Bijal and Avnish’s Indian (hindu) wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. They had the best group of family and friends attending their Indian Wedding Ceremony for their destination hindu wedding. Over 150 family and friends from all over the world – Calgary, Ottowa, Vancover, Nairobi, New York, Singapore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Rajkot, Banglore, London, Singapore to name just a few places This really made it a special day for the couple as so many people had taken the time and effort to attend this fabulous wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace.
Credit must also be given to both Bijal and Anvish’s families in organising all the other event associated with indian weddings – the meet the families evening, mendhi party, the mandau and pithi ceremony, the fantastic indian destination wedding and the reception. This is not easy to do when organising an Indian Wedding thousands of miles away from your home city of Calgary. Family and friends had also helped by preparing homemade Indian food and sweets to make this a special occasion to remember.
Outdoor Hindu Wedding Ceremony
The morning of the wedding was a beautiful sunny day, wedding coordinator with the help of the hotel staff has decorated the gazebo with drapes and indian ornaments to set up the Mandap. The unsual mandap setup really looked stunning with the beautiful white sandy beach and deep blue sea as the backdrop for the outdoor hindu wedding ceremony, exactly what Bijal and Anvish had imagined. One thing that cannot be planned is the weather, even in Mexico. Minutes before the wedding was due to begin it started to rain and must have done so for about an hour, however with the blessing of god it eventually stopped. The hotel staff were excellent and quickly reset the guest sitting and sun come out and the wedding could start – just slightly delayed. A little rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck according to Indian tradition!
The indian priest who had travelled from Calgery conducted a beautiful ceremony, performing the indian wedding ceremony rituals according to the customs which the couple will not doubt remember.
Below are some of the natural wedding photos taken, the lighting couldn’t have been more perfect during the ceremony.
All together, a perfect Indian wedding day!
